Direction in the Wilderness

Week Two: "In Whose Heart?" Series.

Not every season feels clear.

Some feel like a valley. Some feel like confusion. Some feel like you’re doing everything right… and still not moving.

Psalm 84 says:“Passing through the valley of weeping, they make it a place of springs.”

Notice that word—passing through.

Not stuck.Not settling.Passing.

The Wilderness Isn’t the Problem

We all hit seasons that feel dry, heavy, or uncertain.

But the wilderness itself isn’t what defines you.

What matters is this:Do you still have direction while you’re in it?

Because a compass doesn’t remove the wilderness. It gives you direction within it.

When You Feel Off

Sometimes it’s not even a dramatic crisis.

It’s subtle.

You feel:

  • a little disconnected

  • a little tired

  • a little unsure

And suddenly, you realize… you’re not as aligned as you once were. That’s your signal. Not to panic. But to pause. Recenter your heart and encourage your spirit on Him.

How to Recenter?

You don’t need to figure everything out.

You just need to realign.

  • Stop and be still

  • Get honest with God

  • Let the Holy Spirit speak

  • Adjust your direction, even slightly

Small corrections change everything over time.

You’re Not Meant to Live There

The valley is real—but it’s not your home.

Scripture says they make it a place of springs. That means even in hard places, God can produce life, growth, and strength. You don’t just survive the wilderness. You come out stronger.

Do you feel in the valley right now?

If you feel like you’re in a valley right now, hear this clearly:

You’re not lost. You’re just moving through something. Like in week one blog- bending through the curves to your True North. And as long as your heart is still turned toward God, you’re still headed in the right direction.

Keep going.
