My Life Changed At SUMMER CAMP

Hillsong Youth Summer CampsI see it as a great blessing in my life to have a rich Christian heritage, and amongst my greatest memories of growing up are at summer camps and youth camps. At church camps there were rules, there were dorms, there were bunks and sometimes even tents. They were rough, they were raw, but NOTHING defined my destiny more than those summer camps.

I will never forget the time that the guest speaker called me out of the crowd as a 17-year-old and spoke things over my life which I simply didn't have the confidence to believe, (and yet which have been proven time and again to be true.) The ministry time, the ‘old school’ sing-songs around the bonfire, the crazy antics and the intense God-encounters in which His presence was so real to me. I have no doubt whatsoever that the life-transforming atmospheres of those camps have set my course for life.

Bobbie and I have experienced summer camps from every perspective. There was a time when we visited them ourselves; we've seen the fruit of summer camps as the Senior Pastors of our church; but perhaps the biggest impact has been on our three amazing adult kids - who all have a story to tell of the incredible grace of God that they have personally encountered on summer camps.

Who could ever forget the year the "wildlifer's” (year 9-12) came back singing ‘History Maker’ and other powerful Delirious tunes?

How could I forget the time Ben came back and "announced" to us that he was sacrificing
everything he loved: wake boarding, skateboarding, snowboarding, etc; to pursue Christ and get his life priorities established. It was a year in which he read the entire bible and a year that changed his life.  Today, he is a husband and a dad who works for Hillsong Church and the Parramatta rugby league club - helping people and building his future.

PARENTS: I cannot impress on you enough the critical nature of the sacrifice necessary to send our kids to camp.

And for those who can... I cannot urge you strongly enough to consider the blessing that you could be to a young persons life, by sponsoring them to go to camp.

Its life-changing stuff...Genuinely, it is!

So, Hillsong Church, let's realise that these camps start THIS coming week and if you are wondering what YOU can do??...Please check out the following website or call our church office. (

I'm excited for 2012 and I'm believing for favour in YOUR life.
God Bless,

Ps - Even as I've been writing this I've felt convicted to sponsor some young people to camps this weekend. It might just change a life. Could you possibly do that too?

Many blessings,
Brian & Bobbie.
