A Global Prayer Movement

A GLOBAL PRAYER MOVEMENT

(Gifts, nations, prayer, paper-birds, waterfalls & melting snow)

When I felt compelled to create the 2012 'Colour GIFT', my hope was that it would be more than a pretty book that sat on a shelf or coffee table. My hope was that it would visually position the daughters of planet earth before our caring eyes. In the same way that they are not hidden from His loving eyes, I felt they needed to be tangibly positioned before ours. And so with a handful of friends we went about researching the regions of the earth, the nations within and the challenges the women of these nations face.

I have discovered that prayer is not a lame response to the problems of the earth. It is THE most powerful response. Prayer makes a way for God's goodness and answers to prevail. Prayer pushes back the darkness and makes a way for Light to prevail. Prayer takes authority in the spiritual realm, allowing natural authorities to make inroads. It has been said that "all it takes for evil to prevail, is for good men to do Nothing". I believe the same can be said of prayer - all it takes for evil to prevail is for good men and women to never pray!

To Bed She Goes [Colour 2011]

Colour girlsSo it's been a couple of weeks now since Colour ended! For many of you it was a "three day experience” that happened last month or so. Hopefully it was a wonderful experience, hopefully something magnificent and eternal happened in your lovely heart, hopefully you were strengthened and inspired for the season ahead, hopefully your world will never be the same because of what was either watered or ignited.

Colour Flood Relief Response

Queensland FloodsHey Gorgeous Girls,

It is only 8 days till the opening night of COLOUR 2011 in Sydney and we are so excited about not only hosting you but hopefully your team and friends. We are bathing the conference in prayer (and crazy preparation) and have great expectation that God will do what only He can do in your personal world and in this growing and maturing SISTERHOOD.

HISTORY, HAIR & INVITATIONS

Okay, my team are so fun!

Last week they loaded onto the web EVERY COLOUR BROCHURE they could find, which probably wasn't easy because you'd think we'd have comprehensive and beautiful files of each year, with lovely journal entries logging the lovely things that have happened, but alas, we don't really (smile).

Anyway, whatever graphic files they could find, they found ... and for the rest they took photos of whatever they could lay their hands on (no doubt) in the storeroom.

The Wave

The "wave" gets me every time!!

The 45 second clip attached is another ad for Colour that we showed at church this weekend. It's kind of "signature Colour" ... the big beautiful dove (symbolic of the Spirit) that has majestically "flown over us" for the past two years ... and then gorgeous Lisa Bevere almost prophesying what she says ... AND THEN THE WAVE, where I get the SYDNEY conference to send a huge wave to what will be the LONDON and KIEV conferences!!

COLOUR London Update

London 2011Hey Girls,
I trust you had a beautiful Christmas and New Year!! Can't believe we are already into January. Thanks for being so accommodating regarding the 'Royal Wedding' change of dates for Colour London. It seems that only a 'very small handful' of people were negatively affected, which is encouraging (and I know our team in London are working with these lovely girls).

So we have an exciting announcement!!

In the end Craig Groeschel unfortunately couldn't adjust his schedule for this date change. We are of course disappointed, but he will still be at the Sydney Colour conference and we can of course make his messages available. THE GREAT NEWS is that JUDAH SMITH will be speaking in his place. To be honest, I am pumped... Judah and Chelsea are like family and when I emailed him, his immediate response was; "Pastor Bobbie, anything!! I will do anything for you!"... which makes me love him even more.

The Making Of COLOUR - Part 2

Renae Bartley"Waiting Waiting"

So finally FOUR folders of photos arrived on my desk today!! Four folders with what seems like FIVE MILLION images to now peruse through and decide upon.

Seems like a lot has happened since two Mondays ago when a handful of us verged at 7am in an inner city cafe for the first of our Colour photo shoots that day. I've been waiting patiently and excitedly (and maybe even a tiny bit anxiously) for these photos to arrive, because they play a critical role in the Colour journey. They become what we call "the creative pallet" of "the visual experience", that in turn helps us "paint a picture" and "tell the story of everyday women, doing everyday life but with a cause in their heart and hand".

The Making Of COLOUR - Part 1

Vegemite Toast"Tea & Toast"

So Adam the Brave (aka one of our lovely COLLECTED editors) said that some people might be interested in a little insight into "the making of Colour". So if you are up for it, I'm prepared to give it a bash. I know that sometimes I look at events and creative moments and think, "whoa, how on earth did they do that?".

So we've been doing Colour for around 14 years! Like many things it began as a seed (won't tell the whole story here, because I'm currently writing the Sisterhood book and some of that big picture journey will be found there) ... but the JOURNEY BEGAN with an unmistakably "clear directive" - a clear directive that I believe we haven't diverted from, nor added to. The directive/mandate has grown, refined, matured and shaped itself into a stunning Movement of women across the earth over the last 14 years... but the bottom line of WHY we do it, is as clear in my thinking today as when I felt the Holy Spirit seed it.
