HOPE - Part 3

Hope For Eternity

One of God’s greatest promises of hope is found in Romans 5:2-5 (NLT):

“Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of highest privilege where

we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us – they help us learn to endure. And endurance develops strength of character in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation of salvation.

And this expectation will not disappoint us. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.”

Hope in this life and beyond. A hope that never disappoints us and one that gives us access to God and to heaven through Jesus.

 The concept of heaven can elude us. What is this place everyone speaks about and are the streets really made of gold? Well, what I do know is that God promises us eternity with Him if only we believe.

Today, we get to experience the move of God’s Holy Spirit through incredible worship and powerful teaching, prayer and fellowship in our churches. We see evidence of God at work in far away countries moving among the poor, and even in miracles in our own community. But, what we have not seen is Heaven. Yet, we can hold onto the hope and the promise that what awaits us is a beautiful eternity with God.

Hope is the very basis of our faith confession, the reason we can look beyond our own circumstances and proclaim to the world that we serve a God who is good, who cares for every individual and who loves without limits.

Hope in Christ is what keeps us going and allows me to say with all of my faith and confidence….the best is yet to come!
